I’m Daphne van Velsen, the creator and writer of Otexpertise. I began this website to share my love for travel and document the incredible places I visit.

Why the name: ‘Otexpertise’?
Otexpertise stands for: Online Travel Expertise. Since I want to share all my knowledge and expertise about traveling on my website.

What Is My Story?
When I was a child, my parents always took me on my sister on cool camping trips. We did this with different types of stays, think of a Caravan, tent or even a trailer tent. We mainly stayed in The Netherlands, Belgium or Germany. Even as a child, I loved to explore all the new places far or close to home. I think this was the start of my love for traveling and exploring the world.
So here we are now, a 23 years old Dutch girl with the dream to explore as much of the world as possible. Lucky for me, I don’t share this dream alone. Enter my boyfriend for 5 years now, Jeppe.
Jeppe and mine first trip together was to the beautiful Valencia in Spain. Not only was it our first trip together, it was also my first time flying. I am happy and thankful that I get to share these memories with my soulmate.
Fast forward 5 years, we have visited multiple amazing places together, still close to home as Paris, Madeira and Prague. To our Europe list we have recently added another continent: South-East Asia. Last year we had our biggest trip yet: Thailand! We had such a great time together and have many new memories to cherish.
So what now? It is 2024 and we are working very hard on our life time dream: working for ourselves while exploring the world. So join me on this exciting adventure!
Why Did I Start Otexpertise?
I began Otexpertise to share my travel experiences and knowledge, which I wished I had when I first started exploring. In addition to sharing travel tips, I enjoy spreading positivity and emphasizing that life is about more than just work and short vacations. Dive into the unknown and embark on incredible adventures!
