Paris Itinerary: Experience the Best of Paris in 48 Hours

Paris, the French capital, is a city where you can easily spend several weeks without getting bored. But what about if you only have 48 hours? In this blog we will tell you more about our perfect 48 itinerary for the city of love.

Day 1

What better way to start of the 48 hours not even in Paris? For our itinerary we start at one of the most popular places of whole France, Disneyland Paris! You could say this is definitely a must visit for any attraction park lovers. Disneyland has it all, going from exciting rides to delicious food. A must do in the park? Watching the amazing parade and ending the day watching the firework show at the castle. A visit to Disneyland Paris makes for an exciting day trip, offering a break from the city’s hustle and bustle.

Switch up your day by also visiting the Walt Disney Studio Park. Where Disneyland is all about the fairytales, the Studio Park is more about the movies in general. Our all-time favorite attraction is definitely the Marvel Ride! Also don’t forget to look for any kinda show in the studio park like the Lion King Musical.

When going early, you will have enough time to see most of the two parks. We would always advise to already get your tickets online before arrival. This will make sure that you will have an easy entrance. Spend some time picking up cute souvenirs in the main shopping street or outside both parks where you will even find more shops and a cinema.

Disneyland Paris is easy accessible by car or other transportation options like the train. After an exciting day it’s time to go home and relax. When looking at your budget we would advise to choose a hotel or Airbnb close to Disney or at least outside the city center of Paris. Ofcourse it’s also an option to choose a hotel right away in Paris. That way you are right away ready to start day 2.

Day 2

When visiting Paris, you might wonder, how much can you see in one day? Ofcourse, it’s an option to skip Disneyland and spend two days in the city. But what if you only have one day? Well, prepare yourself for a full program. We have done this exact program ourselves, and it is doable, so let’s go!

Morning

Start of your day in the beautiful Montmartre area. This is one of our all-time favorite neighborhoods in Paris. This area just really has that French and artistic vibes with lot’s of cute restaurants. Montmartre truly embodies French culture with its artistic vibes and charming streets. A must do is visit one of the many photo booths. Our tip? Check out FOTOAUTOMAT STUDIO for taking cute pictures which also make a nice souvenir.

Located in this area is also the famous Sacré-Cœur, a place you can’t miss during your visit. Not only is the Basilica amazing to see, but you can also see inside of this historical centerpiece. When visiting, don’t forget to check out the amazing view of the complete city! For any dog lovers, beside the Basilica you will find a dog park that is always full.

With all that walking and exploring it is time for some breakfast. Treat yourself on a delicious breakfast at Place du Tertre, just a few minutes from the Sacré-Cœur. Not only is Place du Tetre good for breakfast, it’s also a great spot to take some beautiful pictures of this famous place. All around the spot you will find art or art in the making, as that is why this spot is so famous. Our recommendation for some food would definitely be La Mere Catherine.

After breakfast it’s time for our first metro ride. Although walking in Paris is no chore, the metro makes it even easier and a lot faster to get around. Get the metro to the famous Opera Garnier. We would recommend you to also visit the Opera but ofcourse you can always skip this option if you want to spare some time or switch it to another activity. Opera Garnier is one of the most impressive in whole Paris, and the inside is just as beautiful. Tickets can easily be bought online or at the door. If you are staying longer in Paris, definitely consider to even visit an opera show itself.

From Opera Garnier we are taking once again the metro to the Champs-Elysee. This is the main shopping street from Paris, switching up with all different kind of stores. Consider getting some delicious macarons at Ladurée. When walking the Champs-Elysee you can also check out another majestic building, the Arc de Triomphe.

Afternoon

So, with this planning you have already seen quite a lot of Paris. After shopping your heart out it’s first time to get some lunch. Take the metro to Eiffeltower area, where you can indulge in French cuisine at various bistros. Here are many different bistro’s. Our all-time favorite is Le Recrutment. Every time we visit this restaurant we choose the croque monsieur, very tasty! The bistro also gives you an amazing view of La tour Eiffel.

The Eiffel Tower is then also our next stop. This is something you definitely can’t miss during your Paris visit. Take your time exploring this impressive building and surrounding area. As you might know you can also choose to climb the tower itself. Just know this will give you some amazing views of the city.

For the most delicious cakes and hot chocolate we are visiting La Carette. Located behind the Eiffel Tower. Be aware, you might see a line when arriving. Although it goes very quick, it’s also worth your while.

After some delicious hot chocolate and relaxing, it’s already time for our next stop. Head over with the metro to Le Louvre. Famous for its museum but you might also know it from the famous serie Lupin. If you want to visit the museum itself, definitely get tickets before. Besides that we would also advise to considering skipping something from this planning.

Evening

From Le Louvre, head over to Île de la Cité and visit the iconic Notre Dame and its surrounding area. Unfortunately, this majestic building is not open for visiting but still incredible to see. The Notre Dame is also surrounded by a very nice area, making it the perfect spot to enjoy some dinner. Our recommendation would be to try some typical French food to get the full experience of your trip.

As this has already been quite a day, we would leave the rest of the evening free for just wandering around or adding some things to the already existing planning.

Paris, a city that I could really imagine living later on in life. This city holds a very special place in my heart. Not crazy as we have already been visiting the capital city five years in a row. So overall our tip would be, explore this majestic city, fall in love with love and wonder!
