Arriving in Chiang Mai, getting around the area couldn’t be easier. Rental cars are conveniently located at the airport and in strategic spots around the city, offering visitors the freedom to discover Chiang Mai and its environs at their own pace. Alternatively, travelers can opt for local transportation options like taxis, tuk-tuks, and songthaews (shared trucks), which provide affordable and efficient ways to navigate between different attractions and neighborhoods within the city. Whether you fancy the independence of a rental car or the authentic charm of local transport, exploring Chiang Mai is a breeze!

Upon landing at the airport, we quickly secured a taxi for our transportation needs. Throughout our time in Chiang Mai, we decided to embrace the freedom of exploring on two wheels and opted to rent a motorbike, thanks to the assistance of our resort. Thankfully, Chiang Mai offers a plethora of rental outlets where scooters are easily accessible. Feeling confident in our safety, especially with my partner’s previous riding experience, we thoroughly enjoyed navigating the city’s streets on our scooter. For those contemplating a similar mode of exploration, it’s certainly a choice worth considering.

Rich Lanna House

During our own visit, we also stayed at the Rich Lanna House. We had an incredible experience staying at this beautiful hotel. Besides the friendly employees and perfect location, we also enjoyed one specific other thing. The adjacent coffee shop. It was super small but super cozy and most important, delicious. Besides drinks they also serve the most amazing cakes. To be honest, I think we at least tried 4 different cakes per person. Chiang Mai is definetly on my list to visit again. One thing for sure, when that time will come, I will stay at this hotel again!

Let’s kick off with an adrenaline-fueled adventure: ziplining through Chiang Mai’s lush jungles! This exhilarating activity was a highlight of my trip. We booked with Jungle Flight, known for its friendly staff and top-notch service. After an early hotel pickup, we joined other adventurers for an exciting journey.

Upon arrival, we were greeted with coffee or tea and a tasty cookie, setting the stage for our ziplining adventure. With over 30 ziplines to conquer, each offering its thrill, the experience was unforgettable. The standout moment? Gliding along the 1000-meter zipline, with breathtaking rainforest views. For an extra rush, there’s a zipline rollercoaster available. After ziplining, we enjoyed a delicious buffet before heading back, our hunger satisfied and memories made. Ziplining in Chiang Mai offers a thrilling adventure and unique views of nature.

2. Tha Pae Sunday Walking Street

We were visiting Thailand during it’s Rainy season, so make sure you have an umbrellla, unless if you are visiting during the dry season.

Personal Experience

Chiang Mai is definitely a favorite place that I will cherish forever. It was my favorite place from all the places we visited during our trip through Thailand. Of course Thailand has so many beautiful places and nature. Believe me, I think we haven’t even seen 1/5 of it all. No surprise that me and my boyfriend definitely will come back to explore of this amazing country.

But all with all, Chiang Mai has just such a different and special feeling. First of all, it is beautiful. The city is vibing, lovely people, amazing temples, so many good food places and uncountable things to do. The limits are endless!

When we arrived in Chiang Mai, it felt as if all the puzzle pieces came together. I know it sounds kind of weird, but sometimes you just instantly feel a connection to a person or place. I hope that with this place you feel inspired to travel to Chiang Mai yourself, you will love it!
