Krabi Thailand, this was the first place which I visited during my trip to Thailand. And let me tell you, I was sold. Krabi, located on the west coast of southern Thailand, is famous for its breathtaking natural beauty, limestone cliffs, crystal-clear turquoise waters, and charming beaches. The provincial capital shares the same name, Krabi, and acts as a central point for accessing the numerous attractions in the area.
Krabi is full of amazing hotels and resorts where you can stay, but which resorts in Krabi Thailand are worth visiting? Let me guide you on a tour through my favorite resorts in Krabi, which are not only the most expensive resorts but also the once that felt like you where in paradise because of the natural beauty of Thailand.
Phu Pha Aonang Resort & Spa
Phu Pha Aonang Resort & Spa, the first resort I stayed in while visiting Thailand. A resort which I already covered in another blog about the best resorts in Thailand. But for sure worth mentioning again, this resort makes you feel like you’re in a lush paradise.
The wooden cabins are between a jungle type environment and in the middle of this all yo have an amazing pool, to cool down after a long and warm day in Krabi and the have a fitness centre so you’ll stay fit during your trip.
Rooms at the Phu Pha Aonang Resort & Spa have wooden furnishings and include air conditioning, a satellite TV and private balconies with a tables and chairs.
Pros of Phu Pha Aonang Resort & Spa
- Number one should be the location, it’s perfectly located outside all the hustle and bustle but close enough to all main attractions. In between beautiful nature and in walking distance of a busy street with lots of shops and restaurants.
- Number two is the possibility to rent a motor bike at the resort, this makes it super convenient since you’re sure that you can trust the staff at this amazing resort and really affordable to.
- Number three should be the price, we only paid around $33 USD per night which is pretty cheap when you look at everything you get. From a pool, fitness and possibility to eat and take a break in the spa.
- Number four is the free shuttle the provide from the resort to the beach. Really convenient and great that it’s a free to use option.
Cons Phu Pha Aonang Resort & Spa
- Number one would be the overall age of the accommodations, you can see that it’s all a bit older and outdated. But this also adds to the overall experience even though you don’t have the luxury vibe.
- Number two for me is the bed, the bed wasn’t as comfortable as I was hoping for which ended up in some back pains. But if you like a bed which is a bit on the hard side then there wouldn’t be any problem for you to sleep here.
BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach – Adults only
Experience exclusive moments at BlueSotel SMART hotel in Aonang, where contemporary luxury and modern design create a captivating ambiance. Situated just 200 meters from the beach with stunning views of the limestone mountains and Andaman Sea, this stylish Krabi hotel offers a romantic and peaceful retreat.
Relax and socialize amidst breathtaking views at the two infinity pools and rooftop bar. Indulge in a local spa therapy for ultimate relaxation and savor delicious meals at a selection of stylish on-site restaurant.
Pros of BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach
- Number one should be the fact that the hotel is adults only, just complete relaxation without any noise or energetic kids playing around in the infinity pools. But of course not the best place to visit for families.
- Number two is of course the location, since it’s next to one of the iconic and stunning cliffs and just a 8 minute walk from the beach makes this hotel extremely well located.
- Number three is the resorts amenities and overall design. With two infinity pools, and amazing restaurant and a fully equipped gym you’ll have everything you need to have an amazing stay.
Cons of BlueSotel SMART Krabi Aonang Beach
- Number one for me is the overall cleanliness of the hotel, from the outside everything looks amazing but from the inside it sometimes lacked some cleaning like unmapped floors and bathrooms.
- Number two should be the price of this hotel, I think for what you get, the prices are a bit to high paying around $100 USD for there cheapest room options when you compare this with other availabilities it’s a bit to much.
Disclaimer: This blog is about the best resorts in Krabi Thailand, the above BlueSotel is more in the category of luxury hotels. But I still added this to the list since they have luxury amenities which you’ll find in resorts nearby.
Golden Beach Resort
Discover the Golden Beach Resort, situated along the Aonang beachfront, offering breathtaking views of the emerald green waters of the Andaman Sea and picturesque mountain scenery at the rear of the resort.
One of the few resorts in Aonang which are actually situated at the beach front, this makes the Golden Beach Resort a one of a kind. The stunning scene with a rocky mountain backdrop, lush gardens with palm trees and flowers, stone elephants spouting water into the pool, and plenty of lounge chairs for relaxation.
Pros Of Golden Beach Resort
- Number one as mentioned above must be the location, since the golden beach resort is one of the few resorts which is actually situated at the beach front in Aonang. When booking one of the 2nd floor villas you can hear the sea at night which I think is really relaxing.
- Number two must be the breakfast which was really enjoyable, with foods from many different cuisines and variety day by day.
- Number three is the staff, not much to say other than that they are super friendly and helpful in any way.
Cons Of Golden Beach Resort
- Number one although the staff was very friendly it was hard actually communicating with them since most of them couldn’t speak English.
- Number two and something I often encounter when visiting Thailand is the mattress which I found a little to hard for my liking.
Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort
One of the ideal luxury resorts in Nong Thale, Welcome to Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort, this resorts offers pure luxury with their all inclusive stays. The resort is equipped with a beautiful pool and just steps away from the beach.
Situated along Klong Muang Beach and embraced by the enchanting scenery of Krabi province, Dusit Thani Krabi Beach Resort is just a stone’s throw away from stunning cliff formations, verdant forests, cascading waterfalls, and mysterious caves.
Featuring 240 rooms, two beachfront pools, diverse dining, and relaxing spa treatments in tropical gardens, this Krabi resort is perfect for families.
Pros of Thani Krabi Beach Resort
- Number one the surroundings and accommodations are stunning, with especially beautiful pools. I enjoyed having direct access to the gorgeous beach on-site, and I appreciated how the resort seamlessly blended the pool, grassy areas, and beach.
- Number two has to be the amazing breakfast, something to look forward to every morning.
- Number three the beds! They where simply amazing, soft and comfortable they included toppers and soft cotton linen.
Cons of Thani Krabi Beach Resort
- Number one is the wifi, really not the best. This for me didn’t matter since I work on mobile data, but something to keep in mind.
- Number two has not much to do with the resort itself but it’s around a 20 minute drive away from Ao Nang, something you should be aware of.
Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve
This is the most expensive and luxurious resort on this list, situated on the shores of the Andaman Sea in Krabi, the Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton Reserve is a luxurious 5-star retreat. With round-the-clock butler service, guests can enjoy an infinity pool, a spa, and a selection of five restaurants.
Phulay Bay Ritz-Carlton offers comfortable rooms surrounded by lush tropical gardens. The rooms feature lovely Thai wooden decor and modern bathrooms. Each room is equipped with a flat-screen cable/satellite TV and a DVD player. You can relish ocean views and a refreshing evening breeze from your private veranda.
Enjoy delicious Asian and Western dishes at Jampoon International Restaurant and Plai Fah Restaurant, prepared with the finest ingredients for your satisfaction.
Pros Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve
- Number one is the connection between outdoor and indoor, the rooms are just amazingly well blended in to the stunning outside environment and gives easy access to the suites.
- Number two must be the fact that every staff member I met provided amazing service, hospitality, and friendliness.
- Number three are the Jampoon Restaurant and the Beach Bar, which are a great place to enjoy your dinner or have a late night drink.
Cons Phulay Bay, A Ritz-Carlton Reserve
- Number one has to be the price, is it worth the price? 100%, but the stay in this resort is very expensive compared to a room in one of the other resorts in Thailand.
- Number two I don’t have any more cons to be fair. This has to be the best and most luxurious resort in Krabi, Thailand.
Remember: these tips are based on my personal preferences, and based on services and features which I like when visiting a resort. Maybe you’ll like to have a private swimming pool, while I’m fine with just the main swimming pool the hotel offers. Above all, I hope this blog got you some inspiration and helps to plan your next trip to Thailand. Stay safe! And feel free to contact me with any questions!
